📜 NEWS: AKI Pennsylvania Update, by Matt Bridi

aikido martial arts Dec 19, 2016

“We intend to create a space where we can host visiting instructors like years past, and our members are very excited about this prospect.”

For the AKI Pennsylvania dojo 2016 has been a year of many changes, as we have had an increase in membership due to two AKI California members moving back to the east coast.  We have also moved one of our long time kids class members, Stefan, to the adult class, and he is doing a great job of watching and copying.

With the addition of new members we have been able to ensure a more consistent class schedule, offering 3 classes per week. In past years the attendance had dropped to the point where AKI PA was forced to move to a location that is not really conducive to growth or hosting of high level teachers.

With current membership we are very excited to continue thinking big, and we are currently searching for a new space. We are looking just north of the city of Philadelphia along the Montgomeryville to Willow Grove corridor for a shared space with high visibility and traffic.

Our intention is to offer at least 2 kids classes and 3 adults classes per week to start.  Once we find our new space we intend to create a space where we can host visiting instructors like years past, and our members are very excited about this prospect.
